NYSHTA co-hosted a webinar on January 16 alongside the New York State Association of Counties (NYSAC) that offered an in-depth look at the new Short-Term Rental (STR) law and how it will directly impact the state's economy, including how state, local and occupancy taxes will be collected.
This law allows the tourism industry to finally compete on a level playing field and for the counties to receive the tax revenues they rightly deserve from a $1 billion industry that was previously unregulated outside of NYC.
