Summer Fundraiser

The New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association holds an annual Saratoga Summer Fundraiser every summer to benefit the Fred and Gertrude England Hospitality Education Foundation -- NYSH&TA's foundation branch, which was created to assist in the educational development of hospitality students by offering individual scholarships to member employees and/or their dependents.

The 2007 Summer Fundraiser was held on Monday, July 30, 2007 at the Saratoga Springs Racecourse. Below are some of the highlights:

Don Yurkonis (Top right), Board of Directors member and General Manager of the Desmond Hotel and Conference Center, Albany, reviews his program at the Summer Fundraiser. For the past few years, Yurkonis has brought at least eight Desmond employees to the Fundraiser.
