Chairman’s Message

Dear NYSH&TA Members:

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to thank you for your continued support of the New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association (NYSH&TA). I firmly believe that the strength of any association comes from everyone’s participation and the support we give one another. There is a great deal of respect for NYSH&TA throughout the country, and you should be proud to be a part of this organization.

Through your membership, NYSH&TA continues its strong leadership role in New York state’s second-largest industry — tourism. This 120-year-old statewide Association — the oldest hospitality and tourism association in the country – now represents more than 1,400 members.

This year, your Association will focus on the key issues that matter to you, including, among others:

  • Legislative issues such as tourism funding, healthcare costs, service charges and workers’ compensation reform.
  • Educating legislators on NYSH&TA and the tourism industry’s role regarding the state’s economy.
  • Educating NYSH&TA members on how to contact and work with their local, elected officials.
  • Continue to research programs and services that will be value-added benefits to members.

As a NYSH&TA member, you can take full advantage of the Member Resources section, where you can view timely legal bulletins; Smith Travel Tourism Indicator Surveys; past issues of our newsletter and the extensive Lending Library catalog. In order to utilize this portion of the site, you will need your membership ID number. If you don’t know your number, please call NYSH&TA at 800-642-5313.

You will also want to check out the Calendar of Events from time to time. This ever-changing section provides you with all of the up-to-date information on NYSH&TA events.

These are just a few of the many benefits that NYSH&TA’s Website offers you. I encourage you to take the time to browse the site and then check back from time to time for the new, informative additions.
