Annual Lodging Management Program Statewide Competition
The New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association (NYSH&TA) facilitates an annual Lodging Management Program Statewide Competition. High Schools from across the state travel to Albany to participate in this exciting competition.
The mission of the Program is to develop an industry experiential competition that recognizes and honors the outstanding New York State Lodging Management Program (LMP).
Purpose
This exciting, one-day competition will allow competitors to demonstrate their hospitality knowledge by competing in a question-and-answer written test, complete room inspections, night audit tasks, two case studies (one in Food and Beverage and the other in Sales and Marketing).
The competition demonstrates student knowledge, skills and abilities in planning an event, to include, the invitation, BEO (Banquet Event Order), menu and floor plan.
The LMP National Competition is a chance for high school students
across the country to compete against each other in teams. Students are
tested on their knowledge of the lodging industry and present case studies
to panels of judges.
