Letter from the Chairman
As NYSH&TA's Chairman of the Board, I would like welcome you to our Website which was redesigned and
streamlined in 2007. It is an honor to be serving as the Chairman of an organization that was founded 121 years ago.
NYSH&TA's mission is to provide a strong voice for the New York state hospitality and tourism industry, and to protect and enhance
the financial welfare of the industry. The Association provides benefits in five major categories: representation before state lawmakers
and regulatory agencies; marketing and promotion of New York State's tourism industry and our members; programs and services that reduce members'
operating costs; education and information; networking opportunities for industry members.
This year, your Association will focus on the key issues that matter to you, including, among others:
- Continuing to research programs and services that will bring value-added benefits
to members. NYSH&TA members are eligible to take advantage of
more than 15 value-added programs that will save you money.
These programs, designated as Money-Saving Programs,
can provide you with deep discounts on the products and services
you need to run your business effectively. For more information
on these products click here.
- Focusing on educating the next generation of New York State hoteliers. The Association wants to equip the young hoteliers with the
educational tools they need to be successful. We will be embarking on a year-long program focusing on topics ranging from customer service to sales
techniques designed to boost your bottom line.
- Continue to carry the legislative voice of the industry statewide. NYSH&TA will focus on Legislative issues such as tourism funding, healthcare costs, service charges and gratuities.
We will be on the front lines in Albany fighting on behalf of the industry on the issues that matter most to you.
As a NYSH&TA member, you can take full advantage of the Member
Resources section, where you can view timely legal bulletins; Smith
Travel Tourism Indicator Surveys; past issues of our newsletter and the
extensive Lending Library catalog. In order to utilize this portion of the site,
you will need your membership ID number. If you don’t know your number, please
call NYSH&TA at 800-642-5313.
You will also want to check out the Calendar of
Events from time to time. This ever-changing section provides you with
all of the up-to-date information on NYSH&TA events.
These are just a few of the many benefits that NYSH&TA’s Website offers
you. I encourage you to take the time to browse the site and then check back
from time to time for the new, informative additions.
